Town Parks Community Infrastructure Project
The Surf Coast Shire recently appointed Perry Mills & Associates to undertake design and documentation of $400,000 worth of coastal infrastructure in the Surf Coast towns of Torquay, Jan Juc and Anglesea.
The works will deliver a range of user facilities to users of the Whites Beach Playground in Torquay, the Bob Pettit Reserve in Jan Juc and the Anglesea Lions Park. The works will include toilets, picnic shelters, barbeques and additional furniture and landscaping.
It is expected that construction will be complete before the end of 2013.
"Each of these spaces is much-loved and well used, yet each provides a unique challenge. The project will have to find innovative solutions to issues such as site drainage, privacy and sustainability " said landscape architect Perry Mills.
"We aim to create elements that not only are functional and practical but also fit seamlessly into the rugged coastal context."
The project team including local building designer Belinda Garwood and experienced structural engineer Andrew Cherubin looks forward to delivering an exceptional outcome to the Surf Coast Shire, its residents and its visitors.
